Art Enrichment at St. Andrew the Apostle in New Orleans

After serving in managerial roles with restaurants such as Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant, Zachary Addison accepted a position as an apprentice with Boudreaux Builders, learning how to design and construct custom-built homes and commercial buildings. Personally, Zachary Addison supports local institutions such as St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic School in New Orleans.

Since its establishment in 1953, St. Andrew the Apostle has sought to provide an education grounded in the Catholic faith while meeting the changing needs of modern society. The school offers academic and moral formation through standard subjects and enrichment offerings ranging from computer technology and physical education to music and art.

Students involved in the art enrichment program at St. Andrew receive some formal instruction in aesthetics and art history, but mainly have the opportunity to learn by doing. They can work on easels or tables, and have access to a potter's wheel and kiln. Mediums available for their exploration include charcoal, clay, ink, paint, and pastels. They can also learn about printmaking. Whatever art they pursue, they learn to develop not just their artistic skills, but also creativity that will benefit them through their entire lives.
